Patio Homes

Each patio home has a front entrance and private patio in the rear. There are no stairs to maneuver. You select the colors for the new carpet and freshly painted walls. The kitchen comes fully equipped with appliances, and you can choose to have an in-home washer/dryer. There are four separate emergency alarm systems available to residents, and all homes have smoke detectors. Sherwood Oaks is responsible for all utilities and maintenance for your home.

Your patio home is cleaned weekly by a housekeeper who also delivers your freshly laundered flat linens (sheets, towels, pillow cases). Security personnel are on duty 24 hours a day and they also staff the Security Gatehouse at the campus entrance. Scheduled transportation is available every day of the week.

Sherwood Oaks Residents Association (SORA)

Every resident is a member of the Residents Association (SORA), which elects officers and governs approximately 60 committees and activities that operate functions ranging from the gift shop to the swimming pool. You choose to be as active (or not) as you want.

Lifestyle

Want to sign up for a Continued Learning Class? Join the Drama Club? Meet friends in the Café Sherwood after your swim? Here are just a few other things to do on campus:

• Germinate vegetable seeds in the greenhouse
• Take an art class
• Enjoy a game of billiards or bridge
• Repair a coffee table in the workshop
• Challenge your friends to a game of pool (croquet, bocce, horseshoes, badminton…)
• Visit the Styling Center
• Check your email, either in the computer center or use our wireless access
• Practice your golf putt
• Take a long walk through the woods
• Workout in the Fitness Center with a personal trainer
• Go swimming
