Our Care
Imagine never having to worry about who will take care of you if you become ill. Sherwood Oaks offers a comprehensive package of health and assisted living programs, including:
- Fitness Center, Wellness and Health Promotion
- In-home Care provided by Community Nursing
- Fully Licensed 42-room Assisted Living (when you need a little help with everyday activities)
- Fully Licensed, "Five-Star" 60-bed Nursing Home (when you require around the clock nursing care)
Sherwood Oaks’ Lifecare program guarantees that you will have unlimited days in assisted living, and unlimited days in nursing care, whenever it is needed, at virtually no additional cost. Our Pennsylvania retirement community has consistently received the highest, "Five-Star" quality rating by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Let’s say you are living in a Dogwood patio home but you need nursing care for several months. In this instance, you will transfer to our nursing center on campus, receive the care you need and then return to your Dogwood patio home once your recovery is complete. During the months you are in the nursing facility you pay your regular monthly Dogwood fee, plus a fee for the two additional meals per day. (Remember, only one meal a day is included in your regular monthly fee). You do not pay anything extra for the room in the nursing center.
In a second example, let’s say that you can no longer safely live in your Dogwood residence and you need to permanently transfer to our Assisted Living residence. In this example, you give up your Dogwood residence and permanently move to Assisted Living. Although you have given up your Dogwood residence, you continue to pay the Dogwood rate even though you are receiving a much costlier level of care in Assisted Living.
There is no limit on the number of nursing or assisted living days you can receive through your Lifecare program.
But – don’t take our word for it. Listen to what these residents have to say:
“I live independently in my own apartment and if I have a medical problem of any sort either the Community Nurse or the doctor is there to help me. I do not have to travel to another place to get the medical help I may need”.
– Margaret M., Resident since 1982.
“It is comforting to know that doctors and nurses are just steps away; the worry about getting older and more infirm is gone and the feeling that you have of safety here at Sherwood is priceless.”
– Ann L., Resident since 2006.
